Official and Courtesy Visa Requirements
Eligibility:
- official visa: official mission to Brazil
- courtesy visa to Brazil: applies to special cases and should be pre-aproved by the Ministry of Foreign Affairs in Brazil.
Terms and Conditions
- Official and courtesy visa holders are prohibited to engage in business, work, or academic activities in Brazil.
- Visa is issued for the duration of the mission, as approved by authorities in Brazil.
Procedures:

Submit
(by an agency or by appointment)
to the Consulate one print-out of the
visa application/protocol form
per applicant, duly signed by the applicant. Parents must sign for those under
18 years old and have their signatures notarized.

You must complete the entire application
online before
you are able to print out the form with your individual protocol number.
Passport with a minimum remaining validity of six months and with at least 2
adjacent
blank visa pages available for the visa stamp (excluding the pages reserved for Amendments and Endorsements).
One recent 2"x 2" passport-type photograph of applicant, front view and showing entire face, in white background. Snapshots, computer pictures and picture photocopies are not accepted.
Once you have your protocol number,
you should come to the Consulate
at 11:30am MON-FRI, with all documents necessary to submit your visa request.
Your visa will be ready in 2 business days.

- Official and courtesy visas are processed in 2 working days.

Official and courtesy visas are granted by the Brazilian Government and usually through the Brazilian Embassy in Washington.
